Depends on what you are fishing for- perch/pickerel/bass-sheltered shallow ponds north and west of Concord 2nd week of december   larger lakes and south of Concord 1st of january; but I most likely will be on some pond 2nd week of december    THE ITCH HAS TO BE SCRATCHED
GOOD LUCK - GOOD FISHING

I hope you're right about the bass ponds around concord.  I would like to get into some pre-Christmas action on a few ponds in that area.

I try not to look too far ahead to the ice season.  I'm looking forward to it, but deer season and the fall salmon fishing are two other times of the year I'd rather not rush through.  It would be nice to see the ice ready when I'm ready :)

i go  fishing christmas day almost every year...........ice for the ice........december 15th north of plymouth and probably the week after for south of plymouth........i usually go to whitefield for my first trip, but last year i was on turtle pond in concord december 12th..........who knows........i still have a lot of open water fishing to do and birds to kill.......
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

As long as I can fish on the big lakes by Jan 1st, that would be good ;D

Farmers Almanac is predicting a "Colder than average" bitter cold winter with average snow fall. That makes me happy.

I'm hoping to hit the ice the second weekend in December. I think last year we drilling our first holes on December 8th over on Waukewan. We slayed them that day too.

I'm gonna say there will fishable ice Sunday December 8th.

I am going to go with the middle of december and pray we don't get the warm spells of rain we got the week after the ice was safe last year. (in southern nh)

last year a buddie of mine and I fished a NW NH lake with 5 1/2 inches of ice on Dec 7 it was really nice being the first to fish hard water of the year, limited out on bows no problem. But......unfortunatley I have a deer or two to kill and a few birds to throw in before this happens. ;D

I will get my mass license.  I'll wait until January so I can just get a non-resident for the whole year.  That way if we want to fish there more than once, I don't have to buy another license.
