Ya gotta wonder. We watch these fishing shows and they go on and on about how careful we need to be while releasing our fish(which I can understand).Than we see pics of fish that lived with bad wounds like the ones on this tread. It leaves me shaking my head  :cookoo:
There is nothing better than the smile on a childs face when they see the fish come up through the hole.

a week before i got the carp with no eyes i found another carp right by the bank almost dead with its whole belly slit .must have stayed alive for a few days like that cause it had that mossy slimy dead film junk all around where it was slit open.pretty rediculous to slit its entire stomach open and let it go.i got a knife out of my car and ended its pain.

Those pannies look like someone used them for bait and let them go when they were done fishing. I use perch all the time and when I am done fishing if there are some still on and lively I toss them back.

Powdiddy that carp I feel was a victim of some A-H*&^ ripping it's eyes out to make them suffer because they think carp are dumb bottom feeding trash fish.
Little do they know that carp are one of the most fun fish to target especialy on a fly rod..

I'd say Powdiddy was right on with the gills  Herons for sure.  They can make a mess of yearling trout in an outside raceway and there eyes are way bigger than their beaks can handle but they gotta make a living too!

Ok ok I admit it.  One time I was on that same water as HRR and I got hungry and took a bite from the bluegill.  It REALLY needed salt so I just let the thing go  :roflmao:

We have caught monster large mouth bass in the Schoharie creek just below where the thruway bridge collapsed that had no or just one eye. Oh Yeah, they still do C&R.

I'd have to take that fish to the taxidermist.

Same here.
