Vexilar Phone Sonar
« on: Jan 01, 2018, 11:06 AM »
Just looking for any input from the community. The reviews online look good, just curious if anybody here has any experience. I have a Lowrance Elite 4x, I really want to check this Vex phone sonar out.

I’m curious as to how well it performs compared to normal sonar. If it actually marks fish, how fast it burns through battery, target separation etc. any info on that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!  I have an IPhone 7 Plus which is a really high end smart phone which will help.
This sport takes a certain amount of character in a man that we all should respect and take pride in.

I have one and used it this year in the summer on my boat. It does burn through the phone battery fast, so a charger is needed for all day use. I did not use it to mark fish, but to plot bottom contours for Navionics, and had hoped to use it to find good holes and spots to ice fish, although I have not gotten out yet this winter. I like it, but I do have 2 other fish finders on my boat for larger screen and better fish marking, so I may not have given it the full attention that someone using it alone may.
