Jimmy, thats my buddy Jims auger. He left it right at the harvey shelter. I made the walk to sunset shelter to get the car as he didnt have spikes. When I got around to harvey, he had everything on shore....OR...SO he said. He caem yesterday to get his gear out of my car and said..."wheres my auger?" I told em if it aint in the truck you left it on the ice. Well he took my auger to fish with his kid, I toldem....somebody got a nice 8 incher.

I will say one thing, he either needs blades on it, or shims, I cut one hole with it and laid it down, for an almost new 8 inch, it cuts poor. But he doesnt take very good care of it...I E-- tossed in the truck

a spud bar works just as well as an auger

With that said....try spudding 50 + holes a day through 8 inches of ice and then lets revisit your post.
