Got out with Reel_Force Wed. Ice is fading fast. Fishing was very slow. Reel_force was about the only one to get any. Great way to spend a work day though.

.  Still can't figure out the pike in there.  Someday.

gotta go to the shallower, weedier areas (standing pondweed/cabbage is a plus) adjacent to the perch beds for the pike...places like Vets, Basin, Dunhams, MDB.

Definitely hit the bays for pike as bigred suggested as that's where I have seen folks get quite a few on tipups over the years.  Bolton, Sawmill, Harris, Basin, Huddle would all be good south basin spots and really anywhere along the big grassbeds could be good.  One time I did see a guy get a real good pike in about 70ft of water just southeast of the Sagamore fishing for lakers but that's pretty unusual.  With the high pressure coming this weekend the laker fishing might be better but March is always the month it seems to really slow down.  Not sure if the fish are moving with the smelt schools out of the normal areas but I never seem to have been able to find a lot of trout or get the big number days in March like you do in January and February.  Good time to go for perch though

;D  That's a good one Lance!!!  My bro Dave and his buds Pete and Jim on the togue train @).  It's seems like it's been a loooooooooong time since we had enough ice that you could drive a quad out under the bridge at Dunhams :o

We caught a 29 " pike 2 weeks ago off vets in 36 FOW. Using suckers for bait. I also jiged a 19 " one on a sweedish pimple.

none to speak of .....  i fished south of the knob today and anything that fell drifted into random piles of snow that were half melted when i left at 3

8.5 inches of fairly hard ice ....  it was better than last saturday
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

Yup. 15 tip-ups per person and when the train went by, the flags started flying.

Fished Blairs Bay. 10"of ice everywhere.  Only 3 others on the whole bay.  Slow fishing, short lakers.  Edges are going fast.  Probably my last trip to LG this year.  Stay safe everyone, be back next year.

got out my first and last time on LG this year.

slow day. No perch. Ended up getting 3 nice lakers and I lost 6 before I could get them to the hole. Gotta go to the writing board. I never have a Miss hookup ratio like that. Gotta change out the treble on my swedish pimple or change over to a jigging rod with more backbone.

5 lakers were hooked/caught in the same exact hole within 1 hour all together.
