Best Knot for hooks and swivels?

What's your opinion on the best knot for attaching line to swivels and hook?

Palomar, darn near goof proof to tie and very strong.

I just tie an improved Clinch knot.

Here's a website to help you decide:

It all depends how fancy you want to get.

Hope this helps,

I use different knots for different applications, but the one knot that I use mostly for hooks and swivels is the trilene knot.  I can tie that knot with more consistency, precision, and ease vs other knots.  What's best for me, will be different for you.  It's what you can tie best.

improved clinch for swivels and jigs, uni-knot for snelling hooks or a double uni for connecting 2 lines together, even braid.

I use an improved clinch on 8lb. and smaller line.  On the bigger stuff and when throwing big lures I like a palomar.
I like to snell my hooks too, it seems to hold the hook more natural.

Braid to mono, albright hard to beat. Swivels , lures, palomar. Strong simple, and fast.
Looking forward to some "crappie" nights!

Another vote for the Palomar, for all the above reasons. Trilene knot would be my second choice.

Improved Clinch, but I pass the line through the eye of the hook at least two times and sometimes three. I only use superline.

Thanks for all the tips guys. A couple of those might take some practice but I'm sure I'll figure them out. ;)

I have used the Crawford knot for over 40 years. I believe the key to a good knot is to find one you trust and stay with that one...hunts2long

The best knot is the one you test yourself.

Tie end to end of two separate knots and do a pull test.  I will use the actual same line that I will be fishing with.  Afterall knot results will vary from line to line as well as diameter differences.  The knot that holds should be the one you will want to use.

hooks and swivels - improved clinch knot 99.9% of the time

joining two lines - double uni knot

been using thee two knots for years, can tie them with my eyes closed, and I always make sure I wet theline before cinchingthe knots tight.

they work great for me.

I have a good one. Can you tie a palomar knot to both sides of a swivel? I can use it to tie swivel to main line, i get lost trying to tie my leader to the swivel? Is it possible? what am I doing wrong? ???

HAHA Im an idiot, thought it out for a moment. I guess I have to tie the leader to the swivel first, eh? Then tie to the main line. HAHA is this the only way? Thanks, Pig

You got it  ;D

I use a "tie fast" tool for terminal ends, however, it does not work on some line.
Spiderwire XXX crystal clear mono, in smaller sizes is brittle and the tie fast not will break it.
The Palomar holds quite well though
