Year of 100% Plastic
« on: Jan 13, 2011, 08:47 PM »
Well the year is going very well for me. Fished a small local derby and won by almost 300g, all fish caught on plastics of course. Really enjoying the challenge that there is with the artifical's to fool them crappie and gills. Also really like how much the plastics help cull out allot of those otherwise pesky dinks. Here is a little video of a crappie I got sight fishing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7Dc_lnXQMU

Finally used plastics this past weekend. Catching gills and a few crappie on waxies, decided to try plastics and proceded to catch the most crappie I've ever caught threw the ice. Will be trying them more often.

Thanks Fontana and Smeltkiller, Vexaholic they can be very addicting once you get using em and the best part is that they are way more inexpensive than live bait!

cool video clip!  I just bought some plastics and can't wait to try them.  What is your favorite color?

Spotail and Dutch, I mostly use Little Atom Plastics but also put ISG, Berkely, and CJ&S down the hole too. I like the skimpys and wedgees but really like the nuggies. As far as color goes I like purple, orange, motor oil, pink, glow(atomic colors and regular), chartruse, and black. Most days it more of the action of the plastic that makes a bigger difference than the color but there are always those days when the fish are picky and you need to dial them in.

Nothing new,I've been fishing clean plastics for 6 or 7 years. They kill them when there pounding and get when it's tough.Yesterday was the worst bite of maybe all time, most negative bite I ever saw.My son and I still managed to get 36 bulls over 9 inches. It was very interesting WATCHING fish hit Ratso's,and Squishy Toy tails, they hit head first(no hook end) or nipped the tail with first bite, then inhaled it on second bite or just missed it and never came back.

Nice pile of fish! I use plastics 85% of the time but once in a while I sneak in a spike.  I like how you catch more nice fish and don't need to rebait as much. I like to use the bros bloodworm most of the time.
A day without fishing is a day wasted.
