Emiquon?

Anyone know how thick the ice at Emiquon is? Thinking about heading over there but the drive is over an hour.

Went by yesterday and it was locked up. No sign of anyone trying it yet.

This is great info...I appreciate it.  So u think the ice is thin then because of the open water?  Were they on the east side or west?  I'm thinking maybe I will head there sunday.  That place is amazing...has to be top 3 Fisheries in the state.

Oh wow....thanks for the info.  Did they say when they would have them?  We could just cross out 2017 and write in 2018 and have them initial lol ;)

Thanks for the info.  I will be heading there Sunday barring weather.  I figure if I can find one fish I should be able to catch a bunch :)

Just called and they have permits available.  Office hours are 8:30-5:00, seven days a week.

I know guys that do well there catching bass during the summer.  Any other species worth chasing there?

Do people fish the ditches / ditch intersections in the open water area, or do they fish ditches close to shore like the south end ditch?  I know some decent crappies on the south end ditch in summer time... but I'm sure they move elsewhere in winter.
