I have made that trip twice. 4 days each time. The last day of the first trip was amazing.  Made me want to go back for sure. It's either that or whitefish on sturgeon bay again this year. Did that twice last year.  It's easy and a good time.

Several...Gogebic, Devils, Rice, Simcoe to name a few. But #1...Erie on the ice. If it would ever freeze like seasons past? You're not gonna find many bigger Walleye on too many other lakes. Those pre-spawn hawgs are just that. Maybe next season.   :-\

For ice I'd say it's gotta be Last Mountain Lake (SK) for pike or Cascade (ID) for perch.

Green Bay for smallmouth in spring/summer with Brett Alexander would be such a fun time.  I tie hair jigs so using my own to catch some would be awesome.

Started chasing my bucket list spots last year when I turned 40. Took a solo trip to Alaska and fly fished for Dolly varden and artic grayling's. Was amazing. Went to Colorado few months ago to break new pb rainbow trout. This year it's to get a 28 inch brown trout ..going to Arkansas in hopes. Montana this summer. As far as ice season I would have to say anywhere in Canada where I can jig for giant Lakers sounds amazing.

I have made that trip. Didn't go to the igloo though. Stayed in a sleeper shacks for 4 days. Had a blast with friends but there is no point in staying in a sleeper, fish don't bite at night there.

you going with McCormick?  Never used him but I have talked to people that have. He will put you on fish. I went in late February and it was amazing.  I couldn't get any of the giant perch to bite that I saw on camera, but caught plenty of 10 to 12s. With our weather I'm thinking about going again this year.

I may have to check that out. The two times I went we just went on our own, with no machines. Walked several miles a couple days.

Yea the other guides are $225 a day and you use their equipment and their predrilled holes. Our guide will get us to the spot and we'll be drilling  are own holes, taking 2 , 4 man hubs if there needed and doing our own thing, the guide is friends and has guided Jason Mitchell on the ice same place as were going. Can't wait.

I live just north of Cascade in Lewiston. Grew up in central indiana.

I don’t like saying much but I know the lake is all over social media. They’re big. I catch them all year. It’s truly unreal seeing these perch.

They’ve changed the regs for border waters of the Mississippi River. It’s now a limit of 15 for each species. You can harvest 15 perch 15 crappie 15 bluegill. It took effect March 1st 2022.

As much as I enjoy ice fishing, none of my bucket list trips or species was on ice. I've pretty much caught all the big game freshwater species I was interested in, from big carp, muskies nd lake sturgeon locally, to white sturgeon out West, and big blue cats, alligator gar and buffs in Southern USA. Done some good saltwater big game fishing as well, Goiliath groupers, bull sharks, and great hammerheads to name a few.

My last bucket list species for ice would be whitefish. We don't have many lake here that have them, and most that do, are closed to ice fishing. My go to will probably be Lake simcoe at some point, but it's a good 5-6 hour drive from Montreal.
