Snipe lake 16" but soft spots so would'nt recommend driving on it yet but thats up to you. Hilliards Bay 16-22" Seen a vehicle out there but he went to the left of the boat launch. Some surface water to the right of the boat launch. Fishing was good at both spots. Headed out to Winagami today so will update later. Fish On!!!!

Cold Lake - average of 20 inches

At Gull yesterday, it is surprising how quickly the ice changes in warm weather.   I don't think there is any danger yet but anywere around cracks will change quickly.  The auger was causing more slush than the fine chips.  Looks like the next week is above 0 daytime in most places.  Be careful out there!

NOTE:  BROKE THRU THE ICE ON CROSS LAKE YESTERDAY, LUCKILY JUST FRONT END OF FORD 150 IN ABOUT 5 FEET OF WATER BY WEED ISLAND, MANAGED TO GET HELP FROM
DODGE DIESEL 250.  JERKED IT OUT WITH A 30' LONG 4" TOW STRAP ON THIRD TRY.  THANKING MY LUCKY STARS TODAY.   THERE WAS ABOUT 12" OF ICE, ABOUT 2" OF WATER, THEN ABOUT ANOTHER 4" OF ICE.  OH WELL, AT LEAST MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER GOT IN HIS FIRST SWIM OF THE YEAR, LOL.   MARKED THE SPOT WITH FLAGGED UP LATH.  BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.

Was on Burnstick Sunday, lots of people on the ice for a kids derby. Caught lots of small perch. I had to stay on the trails or get stuck in the snow. Had a great time.

Small lakes around Edmonton have 2-5" of ice on them.  If you are going to venture out, use extreme caution!

Remember people to read the dates of the postings... don't want someone going through because they read a spring time posting saying 8" or something.
I know it may seem obvious..... but... just sayin

On my flight back into Edmonton yesterday afternoon, I noticed a lot of the medium sized lakes around the area were frozen or partially frozen over. With the sub -20 temps we've got right now, I'll bet that one calm night will be enough to freeze most of the larger lakes over as well.

I may have to go do some exploring later this week....

Good to see you back on here!

Thanks!

Gull is completely frozen over, and the couple spots I checked on the north end had a good 4" of clear, solid ice. I didn't venture much more than 50' from shore, as I didn't have my floater suit or picks on, and I was over 4' of water. A little tough to pull yourself back up on the ice un-aided from even that depth if you go through.

Make sure you check the reg's before heading out fishing, a lot of the more popular lakes are still closed until early December for the whitefish spawn.

Everything is frozen down around Lethbridge (at least the edges, shallower lakes are good to go though) while the mountain lakes are pretty thick already. I'm too busy hunting until the end of the month but will definitely be out early in December. Nice smooth ice this year for the most part.

Glad to here about gull having some decent ice. Hunting season was a bust for me hopefully that's not a bad sign for the up coming ice season.   ::) hope to see you guy on the ice this season and keep those lines tight.

Buffalo Lake has 6-7" of ice on it, the top inch or so is pretty white in some places, but the rest is nice and clear. There were some sleds out on the lake, but no one really venturing too far from shore.

Man this cold weather should be thickening up the ice really well!  Maybe even Cold Lake will freeze over in a decent amount of time this year!

I went out to mound red reservoir it had about 8 inches of solid ice with about 4 inches of soft ice ontop of it. We were the first ones on the ice and had a little treck to go down the hill cutting through the deep snow, this definitely was a work out since I had to make multiple trips since I didn't bring the sled. I only got one bite but was out fishing at the wrong time of day. I am looking forward to hit gull lake next weekend
