A RATSO"S kind of day
« on: Jan 23, 2009, 07:46 PM »
Got a late start 9 ish, very slow a lot of lookers,4 keepers for me and 8 for my son till 2 o'clock,"THATS SLOW". I've got 10 rods rigged with 10 different jigs,my son goes to are "go to lure" chartreuse Ratso's,bam pulls a slab at 7 feet over 14 fow,it's show time,we quit at 3 pm,total 49 slabbers. 37 keepers in one hour, plus several smaller fish released, and a pile of LM bass in the 12 to 14 inch range " released", big slabs, bulls and bass where all together, the vex was light up,fish where 11 to 7 foot, they only hit if they chased, and the magic number was 7 foot, once they hit 7 foot they crush it,or sank back down, they loved the clean ratso's.The vex was still going crazy at three but we called it quites"one of the few times in my life I left fish on the screen" oh well you have to let some for seed and there always tomorrow. Good fishing to all,The Captain.
