Yep, I agree.  It looked like 4" to me.  I didn't venture very far.

Fished the church early morning to late afternoon. Perch bite early in the morning tapered off around 9ish. Few bites here and there

lol you would think that, I'm on a exercise program for my health and longevity! it combines body mind and soul. its called ICERSIZE i intergrate ice catching with a rigorous exercise program  :flex: :flex: might as well be doing something i love while exercising. i incorporate meditating on the WORD,exercise and nutrition. the nutricutical part is the hardest i eat a beet super smoothy in the midst of ice catching giving thanks to the WORD  for creating such a powerful super food,it has NOS  :woot: for all you gear heads.i have to watch i dint red line lol while chasing flags,or drillin a 100 holes.and the best part is the essential oil massage i get from MAMA PESCE .been trying hard to ICERSIZE every day hope to stay on program for the new year

Looking at the extended forecast better get the fishing itch in now.  Unless the forecast changes I can't see the ice making it.  Mid 40''s and a few in the 50's for a week and a half with rain.  Just when things look up they start to look down.

More news had a buddy out fishing one of my spots yesterday. Said he hammered the crappy and gills.  With a few perch, and jigged up a legal bass.  On plastics, and small tungsten tubby  threaded with a waxie.

Most of the nights next week will be between 20-38 degrees though. Shouldn't that slow down the melting a bit?

I fished porterville cove today, max ice I found was 3.5 and that's pushing it. I don't think that'll hold for a while with temps like that, I heard some spots in MC have 6 though, and those spots might hold till next weekend but that's probably about it till something changes. Looks like a pretty bad  future.

Doubtful. Depends on rain, and wind.  Once the water opens by the bridge and a strong wind the wrong way hits along with rain it won't take long for it to eat the ice

well, first the snow needs to melt it was sinking the ice and getting wet nice to walk the pressure cracks made the drag easier.i saw 3 days otta 10 that will change the ice, other than the shallow weeds sticking through the ice ittle hang on and hopefully turn the fish back on.
GOD BLESS

Stayed away from the Dead Sea today and went to
A lake we stock with panfish. Well couldn't even have a dead stick in while I jigged. Banged crappies from 330 till 5 non stop no matter what was down the hole.

I'd hope that's how it'd be if you stock it.  Venture to the dead Sea and fish the honey comb from 3 to dark. Tough bite. Tons of average gill and average dink 10" crappie.  Did manage a few measured 12 -13" and a 16" they all went back in the drink.
