Does this lake/res ever freeze?  Is ice fishing even permitted?

Yea it is fishable. I have ice fished there in previous years, but it isnt the most dependable body of water for safe ice.

Yes, both are fishable, however a bunch of the accesses were also shut down due to high water after the last big rain.  I believe they still closed too.  I haven't been by in a few days, but Hammond had a lot of open water early in the week.  With the current weather it might be fishable again in a few weeks.
