Long lake in willow
« on: Dec 06, 2016, 03:31 PM »
Just wanted to see if anyone has been out since the last snow fall.  Heading out this weekend and I was trying to decide if I can drive on or if I should bring the snow machine.  I will be helping a Boy Scout troop do a little pike spearing and wanted to make sure everything was safe so they can have a good time with no worrys.
I was born an Alaskan I just didn't live here at the time.

I'll be interested to hear how you guys do.  Me and a friend tried spearing there years ago once and we never saw any pike but we did see a really big whitefish or sucker fish.  We never did figure out what it was, but I know there is something in there for the pike to eat!  Good luck and good for you for helping out the youth!

I've speared several big suckers out of there in the past and I usesually manage a few pike.
