Crown Point Bridge Thread
« on: Jan 25, 2019, 01:54 PM »

Hoping some folks would be kind enough to share the current conditions around Crown Point bridge - North side?

Otherwise, figured we could keep a thread going regarding peoples info, updates, conditions, catches etc around this area, as it seems to be a popular "spot" :)
Thanks,
Aaron

I crossed the bridge on Wednesday. There were people fishing to the south and also to the northwest. I didn't see anyone on the ice directly to the north of the bridge but it was frozen as far north as you could see.

Open someone can report back on conditions today south of the bridge. Would like to take my wheeler out of Willow Point either tomorrow or Monday. Had recent ankle surgery so that drag is too far on foot

Ice is good south of the bridge.  11" to 13" of ice today.  the top inch was white ice (refrozen slush) but the rest was clear, and the snow is mostly gone.  Here's a photo from this morning:

Sunday north of the bridge. Fished with CUB... bite was slow, but I did go home with a handful of small whites and a few good yellows. Whites were off port henry. The school(s) were moving fast.

Could you see any activity North towards Potash?
Load it, Drive it, Park it
Bait it, Jig it, Hook it
Catch it, Clean it, Cook it
Simply put just get out/ and do it

Thanks. I heard the bite was slow down South so I have been hesitant but at least I know there is safe ice.

I just looked at sat photos, did everything north of potash break up, or is it all just crystal clear black ice from west port to potash?

I fished Button Bay Friday.  There was 4"-5" of black ice with some small cracks.  It was locked up good as far as I could see north & south.  Probably 6" now after this cold snap.

Anybody fishing or have an idea of ice thickness? Looks like the ice that is there is going to take a beating this weekend. Hope for the best....
