Title: Jiffy power augers
Post by: baginwal on Feb 23, 2003, 09:47 AM
I am going to be purchasing a Jiffy power auger at the end of this season and would like to know the difference between the Jiffy Legend Lightning, Jiffy Model 30 and the Jiffy White Lightning models.  All are available as 2 hp 8 inch augers.
Thanks.

I was able to locate the differences.  They can be found @  http://www.jiffy-on-ice.com/faq.htm.

I typed "jiffy augers" into a seasch engine and found their website. You can learn all you want their. I can tell you all I know. The legend is yellow. The model 30 is white. So presumably the white lightning is white and yellow. Your welcome.

Ok, if most all  of the power ice augers use the Tecumseh engines, why is it that a lot of guys are complaining that the StrikeMasters don't idle well, but not many of the owners of Jiffy and Eskimo  have this complaint? I have been researching ice augers and reading forums and find this subject on most of them. What is your opinion?

Icebug,
the idle problem may be due to the version of motor that strikemaster uses.  Ardisam(eskimo), jiffy, and striklemaster all use the same model engines, but different versions of each engine. that may explain it.
