Here is the only live from the ice pic. I got today . I stopped drilling for a second to take this because I thought it was kinda cool looking at the time .
We were after walleyes today and it didn't work out to well . But it was fun to get out in the snow .

She's all business on the ice... I didn't even bring a rod and she's like "dad, you know I got this"... I was thinking I'm glad you have the mask on to hide the cocky look... Lol She's even telling me where she thinks we should fish... I was loving every minute of it!

Few pics from the ice today. The trophy catch was a really small pike on a crappie rod. Looked down and my rod was halfway down the hole. Grabbed it just in time. Took some drag for being a small fish. Buddy was nice enough to photobomb in the background.

It was more windy than anything. Set out 2 tipups and they were totally blown over with snow in 10 minutes. Had to take a shovel and uncover them every 10 minutes. Definetly wasn't lonely out there, it was a mini shanty town out there looked like a scene from Grumpy Old Men. If I took a pic of the other way there were several ice houses. I wanted to take more pics but we were having a 3 way race in the shanty to see who could catch the most lol.

We are still alive from the ice! Thankfully!
Endured what I would guess to be 40 mph sustained winds for a good hour on Maxi! We were on the North end and it was a complete white out! I'm not kidding about unbelievable winds, I walked over to talk to a guy and as I approached the wind picked up his sled with a power auger in it and threw the auger 3 ft in the air and turned his sled into the likes of a plastic Walmart sack! Luckily he did his best Jerry Rice impersonation and lay'd out and grabbed the rope before it went into orbit!

WOW!!! Was bad Saturday too....did some damage to the 'mobile home' on the ice...in the time we were out there the wind made a complete 180 and even though the corners were anchored down the wind still tried to lift it even with snow on the skirt and ripped at the seam in one corner. Now I have to completely disassmble so my mom and add some reinforcement and stitch her back up for next time.

And a 13.5" crappie from last week.

Glad you guys made it off the ice safely. That wind was nuts! I drove around looking for a protected area near me....decided to stay home. Looking good later this week!
