I hate to say this, but if we're going to be on by some of the dates posted, we had better see a cold front the likes of no one has seen before!!!!

I think we might be looking at January now...Most lakes are still in the upper 40's.....Need a couple nights in the teens getting it ready for that one night in the single digits with no wind..Then we might be getting somewhere.

Just checked the Accuweather.com 15 day forecast, and it looks like it might be promising with a good cold snap starting Dec. 7. Looks like we could be on at least the smaller lakes before Christmas. Hopefully we don't have another crazy warmup that ruins everything like we have the last couple of years. I'm definitely ready to get out. I've put away my soft water rods and my squirrel guns for the year, I'm bored and I want to get out and cut a hole.

Starting Thursday all daily highs are predicted to be below the normal for this time of year.

The week after it looks like there are a couple days where the high is in the high 20's

However these are just predictions so they will probably change. Hopefully for the better.

If the weather goes as predicted and it stays that way for one more week beyond the end date of this slide, then we will be fishing channels by the 21st of Dec. in northern IN / southern MI. Cross your fingers.

Was out on Crooked in Noble Co. yesterday had 46 at the surface. Caught a few gills, nothing special. We need some cold!

This last Saturday when I went deer hunting I saw a great sight. The shallow water in the marsh around one of the small lakes I ice fish was glazed over. I know its not as good as seeing channels and bays froze but its a start. Hopefully we'll be on the ice by around Christmas.

This forecast is making me want to punch mother nature in the face. Only one day out of the next 15 will the high be below freezing. Lows only in the mid 20s. It's not happening fast enough. I'm heading to Gander Mountain in about an hour to gear up. I'm not sure if thats going to make things better or worse.
