Nils 6 inch hand auger new cold snap cover question
« on: Feb 12, 2016, 11:16 AM »
So I got the cold snap for the nils 6" which is the Strikemaster red cover. It does fit over the blades, but it's kind of floppy. What I'm trying to say is it wiggles back and forth once its in place. I don't think it will come off too easily, but is this the normal fit or am I doing something wrong?

thanks in advance, heading out to brave the frigid weather in the Polar Bird...

I recently purchased the Blue colored Cold Snap Auger Cover for my Orange 6' Nils.

Yeah, there is a little "play" in it, but I'm very satisfied with its performance.

Mine is a little wobbly, but never comes off, or comes close to exposing the blades.

The blade guard for a strikemaster lazer auger works nice on a nils also.

Nils cover works fine and is quick and easy...not sure why you would go with a strike master cover  ???

The nils cover that came with my 6" hardly covered the blades and was made of fragile plastic.  Every time I removed it, my fingers were within a half inch of razor sharp blades. It also snapped in half from a 6" vertical fall from a loose chuck on a drill.  Cold snap rocks!

The Nils cover almost ate the transducer cord on my Marcum, a couple of coils came out of my case and wrapped around the top end of the blades. For the sexy price we pay for those blades it should have a sexy magnetic cover, it is kinda like a hood scoop on an Prius, youre not foolin anyone.
