raquette lake

where is a good,easy to get to spot on raquette for lakers? i want to bring my two boys there next weekend,but i  want them to have some action,its to far of a drive not to catch much.   thanks

Raquette lake is really 2 lakes in one.. There is what you can see from the road and in town and for the most part that section of the lake is fairly shallow 20 fow max and all I have ever caught on that side of the lake is small brook trout.If you want to target Lakers with any success you would have to get out by the needles, Tiaoga Pt area if you are not sure what I am talking about get a map of the lake and you can figure it out.You will most definately need motorized transportation it is a long walk.. An easier place to fish with kids would be 7th lake just down the road its not that far of walk to fishy water and there are a few other species of fish in the mix..
