Vex glo ring

Looks and feels well made. Even has a part so you can mount on the genz box.

Where does it mount on the genz box?  Just added some cheap rod holders for hole hopping.

The one thing I do like about the genz box is being able to do about anything to it

Looks pretty nice. I might be off base, but werent there concerns regarding the wavelengths created by these "glo-charge cups" and eye damage with long term exposure?

Question, is there any reason why these couldn’t be made with UV leds inside pvc?

Not at all.  Seen alot of pictures of guys that make them.  Quite a few companies out there that make them.

Nope, I made one last winter. Switch, lights and "cup" total cost $9. Beats spending $40 from clam

Ice jager glow cup is just over 20 if I remember right,  don't see much advantage to vexilars version other than it looks cool

Where did you find the UV lights?  Looking on amazon and ebay, I would be over $20 to make one myself....

I made one with a plastic cup, vexilars cup holder, an LED strip from eBay for $4.99 and a adaptor to plug into my vexilar. $15 can make one easy. Works great, but I found that putting a clear solo cup in it helped. That way hooks don't grab the LED strip & it keeps water off of the LEDs.

I also bought the Jäger cup which is ok, but it is small and works for smaller lures, but a big glow buckshot doesn't fit down in the jäger glow cup very well. Vexilars glow ring was a nice design in that it can fit a lure all the way through & it doesn't catch water.

You want the UV light in I think the 395nm or something to get the good glow. Some guys really got into the wave length and stuff and If I remember right the 395 was the best for getting it to glow.

TNT jigs makes a cheap $20 one, nothing really different then making your own.

And you spent 8 hours thinking and buying and putting it all together (Then it looks like it came from railroad salvage) and you did all that work saving less than $4/hour.
And you just paid some bozo $30/hour to mow your lawn.  ????
Present company excepted of course.

So you are telling me you have nothing "homemade" that you use to save yourself money?  If some of us like making stuff like this, then why spend the extra money.

I'd rather take that $30 and buy some more beer to drink while I put it together

8 hours? Paid someone to mow? Does it take you 3 hours to put a belt on in the morning? Do you pay someone to go fishing for you? If you're functionally useless that's great, not everybody else is.

The biggest challenge I have with my new Vex gloves ring, is remembering to 'dip' my jig in it.  This past weekend, I was like, !@##@@, I forgot to charge up!!  I'll get there. Otherwise, I like mine.  Had to build a little two tab pigtail for the vex battery, but that was simple enough, and now Im off to the races.

does it really make a difference?  All the glow stuff?  I use to have a rayovac blacklight flashlight but lost it.  Not sure it made a difference.  I even put glow glue on some of my spoons.
