Using Ice fishing Tech in the summer
« on: Jul 13, 2010, 01:55 PM »
I am taking the Marcum out fishing with me this weekend in a bass tournament to help me fish suspended smallies.

I never thought I would find a use for this in the summer.

It is funny how much I used my ice rods and reels this year too for early crappie.

Just thought I would pay a mid-summer visit to my favorite winter fishing board.  Have a great summer everyone.   ;D

Works well!  Especially for locating those suspended fish in deeper water, or even reading depths/structure.  Let us know how it worked out for you.

Been using the vex all summer too.  Need to buy the alumaducer, but it works well with the iceducer sitting on the bottom of the boat.  Good for trolling for walleye, tells you when to change lures.

I been trying to talk my buddy who has a pontoon boat to put a few 10 inch holes in the floor, he's not buying it.

I have my flasher mounted on the trolling motor, really helps with locating suspended smallies.

I knew guys that only ever had a flasher on their boat. Never bothered with the paper, lcd, tft or other units.
