I am relatively new to the Hali Jig, actually got my first this Christmas in my HT tackle combo and haven't used it yet.  I think it's a Hali, it has a chain on the back end with a small single hook.  Anyway, don't know anything about them, like primary target species, baits to tip the hook, etc.  I see a bunch of folks use them so they must work.  What's the deal?

That sounds like a Hali to me. They are used MOSTLY for pan fish and I tip mine with waxworms. I hope to have my video edited in the next couple of days (I'm working 12 hr days), but I got some of the Hali's in action.

Yeah..yeah...Damn work gets in the way. ::) :D I'll stay up later tonight and get a little video editing done. I thought I had 2.5 hours of tape from Sunday, but my A/V cable got screwed up, so I only have about an hour of footage to work with. I watched some it and I know I have some stuff to work with.

Not to change the subject, but was your old screen name, Esox, short for "Esox Lucius"(sp), or more popularly known as the Northern Pike?  Just drew the realationship, it only took a year or so!

Ok...here they are. Not my best work, but I'm tired and I want to go to bed. ;) These are big files (3mb+ I think), so you may have to save them to view them depending on your connection.

Great footage! Looks like what I'm watching when I fish. Haven't tried these jigs yet. What color/patterns are working for you so far?

Bob D. --your videos are great--so good ,in fact, that after watching them I ordered some Hali's online. They just arrived today-can't wait to try them out.You should get a comission, after your videos ,I'll bet Hali sales have gone up bigtime.

Thanks guys. I hope to get some more video this season. I just need to make some time to do it.

Lobes,
It depends on the day and where I'm fishing. One bay I fish, the perch nornally like gold or silver. On another bay they like the glow white or green perch pattern. I carry a bunch of different colors with my so I can always give them what they want. You always want to tip the hook with something. If you don't the fish will attack the jig and not the hook.

Tombo,
I don't know if I want to get paid for fishing or helping others catch fish. I work shows for a couple of companies, but I just get product credit to feed my addiction.  ;) I don't represent products that I don't actually use and like. I callum' like I seeum', and it's a lot easier to do that when nobody is giving you money.  ;) ;D Good luck with those lures. I'm sure you will do well with them.

Thanks for the info! I just put about $25.00 in a handfull of patterns. That should help get me in some fish.

Hey guys - I agree with all the praise I've seen written, these lures are tops in my arsenal.  The only complaint I have is the fine wire hooks dull and/or the point bends after little use.  I know they sell replacement chains and hooks together.  However, a quick-snap at the end of the chain would be great.
That way you would be able to replace with the hook of your choice.
