Best Thermos?
« on: Dec 08, 2004, 09:35 PM »
Okay, a bit off the norm here. I am a big coffee drinker and really like my java real hot. I have always used a Stanley, but the new stainless ones do not keep it very hot very long, like the old glass lined ones seemed to. Who makes a really good one that works the best. Also, a 2 qt. would be a bonus(BTW......I drink half-decaf).

Gotta fill that Stanley with boiling hot water first and let it stand for about 30 minutes.Get it hot and it'll stay hot all day ;D

I do preheat it with hot water, not with "boiling water", but hot water. Looking at the Nissan 2 qt., I guess they will keep it hot alot longer then others, according to a few reviews I just found on the net.

The best thermos I have ever used (and still do) is a 16 oz. Nissan.  I believe they now own the "Thermos" name too.

At the end of a long, cold day, I still have to wait a few minutes to drink my hot beverage after pouring it or else I'll scald my mouth.  Can't ask for much more than that.

yep i go with the thermos push button type as well. it always seems to keep it nice and hot but i always have a back with one of those cups that heat coffee in the car. just send the old lady back to heat some up if she gets cold. least it gets her warm.
