I just spooled up a reel with 6 lb fluoroclear for macks, hoping it will be more invisible to not turn finicky macks. Anyone here have any experience with this line? I hear it's a copolymer style line with a coating of fluorocarbon.

I am impressed with the fluoroclear on my first laker trip this year. I landed 9 lakers in two hard days of fishing in tough, sunny conditions. They were all just 2 - 4 pounds, but I seemed to have less fish appear on sonar and leave without hitting, though most of the lakers in this lake still leave without hitting, they are just finicky. But I liked the manageability of this line and the strength. Seemed to have a little less stretch too. Maybe a little stiffer than mono, but great line. I think I will spool my other laker reel with some 8 lb test for Blue Mesa Reservoir, which has much bigger lakers than Taylor.

Glad to hear positive responses, as I just spooled three spools with the Floroclear; 2# and 4# for my panfish rigs. I did break test it by hand, and it seemed to be fairly tough. Hopefully the 2# will prove effective on finicky bluegills and crappie. Also, it did appear to be harder to see, though I was working at night.
