Far cry from a shanty, but a heck of a lot easier to carry :flex:

Real old ice fishing windbreaker but I got it New Old Stock.

Swede,

Pretty cool. Can you anchor that thing to the ice or do you just have to keep some weight on the platform (when it's windy)?

Reminds me of the Polar Windbreak.

No, no anchor. If it needs it, I could add something on it pretty easily. But because it is somewhat of a relic I would rather not.

The Polar wind break looks like a nice design. Would be great for cross country skiing/skating. Coffee breaks. You got a website where I can take a look at?

Worth considering, probably times when I would think it was the best money I ever spent.

Swede,

I'm close to buying a couple of the Polar's for the times I ski or snowshoe into mountain lakes.

Looks like they will add a lot of protection from wind for not a lot of weight.

I could hang up a yellow rubber ducky.  ;D

Beer can, shhhh, wife might start telling me I have to come home early.

I could have used that polar wind break today, Colorado. Winds starting to bite a little. Have you decided to order one? If so, Ill wait for your verdict.

Used Polar WindBreak

Swede,

I just dropped a significant chunk of change on some new AT/Randonee skis and bindings. So my purchase of anything else but groceries is now on hold. Sorry.

There is a used one for sale (asking US$25.00) here:

http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2570&cat=14

Stated to be in great condition. Looks like you would have to join the forum there to contact the seller.

Being over seas, shipping becomes an issue for me. I will have to wait and see.

I did buy a pair of Baffin rubber boots made in Canada half off. Man I like those boots. Talk about warm! Now, I am thinking of neoprene gloves. Those gloves I imagine have got to be nice if your getting your hands wet a lot out there on the ice.

Have been fishing out in the open lately.  In fact it has been so nice out that I haven't even taken my portable out and set it up yet this year.  Just wondering if anyone knows if Cabela's is the only one selling the Polar Winbreak or who makes it?  Can't find anything when I Google except Cabela's.  Also does anyone have one of these.  They look like they would be handy to take out on some of those "breezy" days just to keep the wind off.
