Edgerton Ohiowhen ya get up here to moosehead I'm sure you'll change your mind! the engineering they put to this takes all the disadvantages you listed to make a great product also when ya get here Ill race ya with mine from a cold start! SO YA CAN SEE THIS CRIPPLED UP GUY beat yours! lol
2, 12volt,9amp= 24volt batteries
3/4" HDPE plastic= High Density PolyEthylene(Which is made from Petroleum, it takes 1.75Kg. of petroleum to make 1Kg. of HDPE
Disadvantages of HDPE
Sensitive to thick sections in your part. It may have voids, bubbles or sink. Poor dimensional accuracy. Low mechanical and thermal properties. Price is low to very low.
High thermal expansion (didn't see it change from winter to summer!)
Poor weathering resistance (still nice and bright like day one!)
Subject to stress cracking (None noted)
Difficult to bond (Engineer's job)
Flammable (smoked a cigarette many times while in use never caught fire!)
Poor temperature capability (used it once at -30 still worked)
Low strength/stiffness (seems pretty rugged!)
pikeking, i love my icegator , but i got to be honest here , if you are looking at a new auger because you want something light then the gator may not be the auger for you, unless you are using the new model that doesnt have a battery and connects to your wheeler or snowmobile. i put the icegator with 2 batteries on board , between a 2 and 3 hp gas auger weight wise
