1st time on the ice

I had a great time at the Ice fishing derby in Hills Creek, put on by Ice Fishing across Pennsylvania. It was blast, and everyone was very helpful. I had no idea what I was doing, but with everyone's help I was catching fish. I will always remember my first day on th ice.

Truer words have never been spoken, NEZ.  The other guys are right too,  he is hooked on the hardwater now.  Many people I know all said the same type of thing "sitting on a frozen lake doesn't sound fun"...but now - several hundred bucks, and a few years later - they are all becoming hardcore!!  When it gets in your blood - no getting it out. :tipup:

wiggly812, we took a first timer out on Hills Creek about 2 weeks ago.  He had nothing,  Used my sled and flasher and another guys extra rods.  He went home and bought 5 ice rods, a Hummingbird ICE 35, sled and some jigs.  Looks like I need to trade truck in for a full size van with an enclosed trailer to haul all the gear :woot:

Welcome to IS!! I got hooked on ice fishing 2 years ago and can hardly stand to see the ice go in the spring and chomp at the bit for it to get safe in the winter. Ran into Wiggly812 a couple years ago and tag along with him once in a while. He taught me how to have fun with flags, I just wish he would show me how to get them on the ice!! LOL

Jim... that was the strangest day I can recall.  15 flags with lots of runners and only one bass to show for it.

Yes. Its either you love it or hate it. All depends on your first experience. Mine was fantastic. It was about 8 or 9. Years ago. Now i dont even enjoy the open water like i used to. I have ice in my veins now. Not to mention all the money that has been spent. I do not have every product out there. But what i do have is enough to know that if i dont have it i dont need it. But still keep buying anyway. Lol. I have several huts augers rods tip ups and enough jigs to supply everybody on this site. Keep on fishing

Well chute took
Me and we had one vex and his two man flip over. Gave me combo and anold plastic rod bucket of slabs and perch later and my paypal was going ding ding ding. Hut marcum. Jigs combos and a love for seeing the screen light up
