St. Croix spring bobber set-up

You can buy the St. Croix spring bobber but not the holder. I make these up at work. What do y'all think?

yes you can. They sell the spring bobber only for about $7 in most stores that carry the rods

Honestly the foot on that looks too wide.  I'm a rod builder, and 99% of my ice rods, I'm incorporating the St. Croix spring bobber.  I bust the ceramic out of a #6 spinning guide and wrap it onto the tip tube, any my grommet goes into that.  The #6 guide has a narrower foot that fits well onto the small tubes that ice rod tips have.  Lots of guys use a #8 spin guide, but I don't think they are breaking the ceramic ring out.  Yours looks really solid, but I don't know how well it would fit the average tip tube....

This is my new eye. It is made from stainless steel so it wont rust.
