Definitely worth the trip. I'm really hoping to get to go this year

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

2nd year for the event, Jason Mitchell, John Grosvenor, Kevan Paul, Steve Weisman & Trevor Fey will be there doing seminars &  product demos. Great personal customer service! A lot of inventory & newly remodeled store. Worth the trip.

Just curious, the names are very similar as we all see. What store came first the C or K???
Has there ever been a dispute with the similarity??

I'm a part time Orleans resident as of July.  Really enjoying the area.  So many options of how you wanna fish and what you want to fish and quite a few lakes to fish in the immediate area.

Cabela's was founded by Richard Cabela in 1961 & made public in 2004. Kabele's was founded by Ed Kabele in 1968, later purchased by Thane Johnson in 2003 & Tanya Petersen-Johnson joined in 2010 after a 13 yr. career in Social Work. The 45yr old building was recently updated to fix some of the underlying issues with water, electrical, and furnace w/ an aging building & make more room for merchandise. Ed Kabele still lives next door to Kabele's Trading Post.

I wonder how much I spent there 1982 til present? I grew up at a house near the pump station in Orleans and spent plenty there on bait and tackle.  Ed and the folks there were really good to us.  Love the stringer mount and big snapper mount that used to be there...not sure if they are sill there.  Had a lot of fish cleaned there too.
STRIKELITE 4-STROKE, POLARIS 800 X2, OTTER OUTDOORS, FL-12, FORD F-150, ST. CROIX, HERITAGE LAKER AND FRABILL THERMAL TIPUPS, STRIKEMASTER BIBS AND PARKA, MR BUDDY, LOWRANCE H2O, AQUA VIEW XL, MARCUM PANNING TRIPOD, AND FATTIES.

The big snapping turtle mount is still displayed above the bait cooler behind the registers. Ed did take the stringer mount for display in his garage!

Last weekend we went up to Kabeles to check things out before the event. Over this past weekend, we went to Mills Fleet Farm in both Mason City and Ankeny, as well as Bass Pro in Altoona and also Scheels. I gotta say that of all the places we went, Kabeles by far has the best set up, selection, and arrangement of ice fishing stuff of all of them. Plus there customer service is awesome as well!!

I use a lot of plastics myself, but always carry spikes and waxes. Sometimes it just flat out works. Which plastics you using?
