northens in the metro

today i caught eight 21-26inch pike between two buddys and 10 hours.

I am Not trying to preach, and I do NOT want to start a C&R debate.......

That being said......

Most fisheries benefit from having some smaller pike harvested. Check out the In-Fisherman Ice fishing guide, they have a pickled pike recipe in there that is fantastic. If you have never tried pickled pike, you owe it to yourself. ;D

no C&R issue here i kept two that i caught the other night i like pike cooked any way i can get it, just as long as someone else cleans it, I can not manage to fillet a northern what so ever you will have every y bone imaginable

Pickling dissolves the Y-bones in smaller pike. Those little buggers sure do have plenty of bones. ;D
