Favorite fishing vacation?

Where is your best place to go when the lakes around home seem ho-hum? Looking for some solid spots to take Mrs. Bearnoob and the cub when they complain that all I do is work. You don't need to give up your honey holes, just looking for lakes/towns/resorts that were memorable for the fishing or otherwise.

Fishing vacation?  It's fishing work for me. LOL.  To me it takes several tries to dial it in.  Sometimes, it's a timing thing.  Morning/evening bite vs all day waiting.  I snoozed and get a wake up call of fish tugging on other end.

I am going to Birch Lake near Ely in June. I have never been there. I hope it is a favorite fishing vacation.
