Wanted to let everyone in the area know the ice on Prospertown and Assumpink was 2.75 to 3 inches.  I fished both this afternoon.  Just jigged and stayed pretty close to shore.  No fish but it was nice getting out after not ice fishing for 8 years (moved to TX).  Nice to be back in Jersey.  I did get checked by the warden. Glad I picked up my license this morning....

Checked a few spots in central/southern Middlesex county today. 2.5 to 3" with open water out in the middle. Was kinda surprised considering the frigid temps the last couple days. If the ice that's there survives thru Wednesday it should lock up and be close to 4" by saturday. Will check again on friday.

It took 3 good whacks with the spud bar to punch through what was all black ice.
