last ice coming fast!

Tried to get on a local prarie lake this aftrenoon.  Took the auger out to make sure there was enough ice.  Slushy edges so i wore waders.  Drilled four holes through weak slush decided not enough to feel safe. broke through waist deep getting off! Thank god for good waders. I hope I can get on in the hills this coming friday. If anyone has any info let me know.
