Title: Who's Going Out This Weekend?
Post by: Ice_Fly_Guy on Jan 19, 2022, 03:21 PM
Who's planning on wetting a line or two this weekend?  I'm definitely going, not sure which day.  Maybe both.  I'm torn between trying for perch/panfish at Black Hawk, bluegills at a public pond, or poking some holes in a river spot just to see if there are any fish present.  Maybe I'll do all of the above.

Where are you headed and what are you after?

Sounds like a plan maybe I will hit Black hawk this weekend. Maybe we'll see you out there.

Im thinking in Iowa Pony Creek and Prairie Rose. Possibly 12 mile if my buddy can go too. Deciding if i want to take tomorrow off. If i do i may throw Wildwood in Nebraska in there as well!!

Heard anything on the ice at 12 mile? Any ATV traffic? I’m getting old and lazy and would rather not have to drag my hand,

I'm taking two buddies out. Leaving 11:30 Friday and headed to Waubay / Bitter area. Hope to be on the ice by 3:30 and pulling up some piggy perch and eyes. I'm really hoping for a good trip...one of the guys just had twins last month and has 5 young kids now.....doesn't get out much so hopefully karma pays and he catches a bunch.

Like hope for this type of good....

The fishing in SD would be better if the ice fisherman would stop thinking of ways to justify keeping 12" walleyes. The pictures I've been seeing make my eyes bleed. Guides are the worst.

Good luck at South Dakota, man I love going there in early December 1st ice. There never seems to be a crowd especially if everyone has to walk out to fish.
Fished bitter for the first time this year and it didn't disappoint.

Wish I was headed to South Dakota! First time in a few years that 8 don’t have a trip planned for up there. Hoping to make a quick weekend trip sometime but we will see. Be interested to hear how you do up that way!

Driving my wheeler on 3 mile so I’m going to presume the ice is good enough. The temps have been insanely low lately
