Getting closer to hard water. Who is ready??? I am still enjoying putting my boat in the water but either way I will be happy!

Pretty happy enjoying my catfishing right now. Ill be ready when the time comes. The time goes fast enough the way it is the older I get.

With the luck you've been having with catfish this summer Wayne I can see why your in no hurry. Its getting closer as yesterday the water temp was down to 79*.

I know you said the garmin, but I will say I got navionics on my smart phone and think it is great for $10 or $15. It could be a little more up to date (it doesn't have clear lake's dredge project on little lake). You can also get it for I-PAD for I think it's $50. That is if you have either of those. It's just a thought and cheap by comparison to buying a GPS. I know it isn't perfect, but it does have the ability of putting you on more fish.

Pretty cold this morning coming off the river. 45 degrees at 3am is what my truck said and it felt great to have a chill on and wishing I had another layer of clothes. Days are getting shorter and it'll be here before we know it.

I used the navionics app last year on my Nexus7 tablet. It put us on keeper crappies at 3 mile. The good thing about the app is you buy it once and you can use it on more than one device after you buy it. I didn't even use my Garmin last year because of the navionic app.

30s every night for the foreseeable future........water temps will fall quck........then need some days with hights in the teens and 20s and it will happen quick..........but please no winds.

Cool your jets guys, we go through this every year and it still doesn't happen until at least the 1st-2nd week in Dec. With that said I fired up the auger Tue night, started on the 2nd pull. The main boat goes into off site storage tomorrow and then I'll drag out the tents next weekend. So much to do, bow hunting, turkey hunting etc. Hoping for a couple nice days yet as I picked up a 2nd boat this week, a14' flatbottom that will fit in my small garage so I have something to use around here on our little lakes and the Cedar.

I will be on the ice last week of November whether its in Northern Iowa or Northern Minnesota....I'm ready for everything to ice over mid July usually. Weather is looking good ain't even making it outta the 30's today.
