Quite interesting Fred. If they truly want to remove them, than a no season, no size, no limit would put a dent in them. Don't know much about that Lake, but I would think that they should be able to hone in on the spawning streams (like the South end of Conesus Lake) and a good DEC netting project for the prime spawning week should greatly reduce any present year class fish? Of course I got to believe that Walleye fry should be good forage for those trout.
I spend a bit of time on the lake and I've caught a grand total of 1 while fishing for perch and smallies from 0-60' deep. Haven't seen any others up shallow or found any floaters either. They could be out suspended and the trout trollers are catching them but dragging a bunch of stuff in typical eye areas hasn't yielded limit catches on my end. The one I caught hit a drop shot in 20' while perch fishing last May. It tasted very good that evening. I've also caught 3 pickerel, 1 small tiger and a couple largemouth bass over the years.

I  have  to agree  with you mcully I  fish  skinny  and I never actually caught a  eye  but I  know  people that have ,I don't think there is a booming population  that's for  sure .... just  stock older rainbows ....funny nobody thought of that

Anyone see this
http://http://www.syracuse.com/outdoors/2019/03/dec-weighs-options-for-ridding-skaneateles-lake-of-illegally-stocked-walleye.html
They tried to get the walleyes out of Chautauqua years back because they said they were hurting the musky population.  They lowered the size limit to 12" and after a few years they decided it wasn't going to work and accepted the walleye would have to stay.  This year was one of the best walleye ice seasons we have had for limit and size and the musky population is still good in the lake.  Now fishermen come to Chautauqua year round for both walleye and musky.   Skinny should realize and promote the same.

If the state wants to do no size, no limit, no season to rid them, I volunteer!

I've fished it a bit, never seen one. But it was wrong if it is due to someone dumping them in there.

Just got back from fishing Williams this morning.  The crack by the islands has widened to about 2 feet.  I wouldn't recommend venturing over it.  Made 4 moves and caught 10 keeper perch before my flasher died.  Beautiful day to be out.

Nice catch! I'm sure you may have company now! 35-46 turns on the auger on soft ice-you may want to change the blades on that baby.

Another beautiful day on the ice. Nothing fast and furious, just a slow pick. This might be my last trip. It’s been a great year.

This is not where I got on but you can see my tracks where I came off.  :o

Thanks. I didn’t hesitate. You have to remember to line up with where you want to land too. You can’t steer once you hit that water.

Fred - The end is close. I was digging my boot in a few inches when I left.

Stay safe guys.
