Weird looking bass from Champlain

Check out this Champlain largemouth. Not very big it was 2 lbs 13 oz but I have never caught one that looked like this.

Nice color phase large mouth bass!  More common down south, in GA and TN.  Have only seen a couple out of Champlain.

It was a joke about the color phase.  I have no idea why it's half black.  Never seen one in my life.  Maybe it has to do with pigment?
