Walked on and off today no issues. However its starting to get water on the edge and some spots are opening up, but it still felt pretty solid, just watch your step.

Fishing action was slow as to be expected, fished 8 hours, got like 4 flags all day. Missed something decent on a small perch I was using for bait. The rest of my day was jigging a couple nice crappies in 12 FOW and some nice yellow perch.

I cussed some other fishermen out, they got super close to me and had 2 DOGS. One of the dogs took a leak on my fishing gear and this pushed me over the edge, packed up and cuss them out as I moved away from the dogs. IMO dog do not belong on the ice, if you want to bring the mutt in your boat fine, but I am sure the town I was in has a leash law...                                                                                                                I agree Hacker, can't figure out what people think bringing out a dog. I was there last week as well, the owner walks the dog away from where he was fishing about 20 yards and the dog craps on the ice and he leaves it there. The week before a dog running all over the place setting off 1 of my tip-ups and the owner laughs and calls the dog back. Then he leaves a bunch of trash on the ice so I go to clean up and there was dog crap all over the place.
A bad day of ice fishing is better than any day at work!

Papa sly we know u hate dogs from previous posts. My last dog came with me 30 to 40 times a year and was more intelligent then most humans. It's not the dogs fault it's the owner when they are ass****. If trained right there are no issues.mine was never on a leash and would stay by my side

Bring an extra long plank or hunt around to access the ice, edge is getting bad. Middle is still solid and thick.

Slow going today, jigged a few perch. Another guy landed a nice Bowfin about 8 pounds.

There today - middle is fading fast but still safe - 10ish solid inches and some slushiness - edges will be gone if it rains tomorrow/Friday - afraid it won’t make it to the weekend boys

I had a friend almost die going through 8-10" of ice.  Ice thickness doesn't constitute safety this time of year.  Be safe everyone!

Pike rig, dead bait. Caught two, same hole, maybe they travel in small schools?

Nice Bowfin! I have caught only one at the oxbow in 15 years of fishing it... same way on a big dead shiner rigged for pike.

Nice when you catch something different then you normally target. Curious of what they actually taste like.

Beautiful fish! Yours is a nice female. I think a lot of times the males hang out around the females and the kind of “school” up. Did your other one have the spot towards the tail? If so that’s a male. I got 4 in 20 mins. One was a double fishing for cats. One was big female and 3 males. I have gotten them in the ctr and Taunton river. Just what I have noticed.

The other one was about 4 inches smaller and had a spot on its tail! So the males prolly group around the females. Always cool to learn something new about fish!

I lived in the south for many years where they are very common. They are terrible, and no one eats them.

Bernies isnt that close to the Oxbow and IMO not that good. The Mexican place up the street from Bernie's is very good, its more on an attraction because if the train car.
