57! This is some kind of freak storm. While we're sitting here with high 30 and low 40 temps, its still gonna be almost 80 in Omaha. Wish I could share this with you guys, but I'll bet when it's over it will get warm again for a few weeks up here. Just a little teaser.

I don't post pics on here much anymore cuz I hate having to host them somewhere else. There is a bass boat site that I hang out on a lot and I will post some there and place a link to it, if the mods will allow that. Is that ok, moderators? I know I've been in the doghouse here before and I don't want to be there again. :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

Yep, got 4 feet a my house. I was snowed in without power for 4 days. Thankfully a neighbor with a Bobcat dug me out and thanks to my trusty Tahoe I'm at my Mom's house, I won't have power at my house for another week. This should cool the lakes down good, as my house is only 5 miles from Sheridan Lake so I'm sure there was tons of snow dumped in it. Maybe we'll keep up with those Alaska guys this year!  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

Boat went to the shop today to get winterized. I finally gave up on hoping for "one more nice day". Spooled the ice rods yesterday, took a tackle inventory, mounted my GoPro brackets on the sled and the shack, and charged up the Vexilar. Keeping an eye on Roubaix, Iron Creek, and Sylvan and waiting.

And in case anyone was wondering..... I did the math. I figured the average temperature for the next six days for the three lakes I listed above. The temp at Iron Creek Lake will average 30.8, Roubaix 32, and Sylvan 32.5.

45! Nice job on the research jbuss. My boat is put away now too. I felt like a big sissy putting her away this early, but whatever, beats sweeping 2 ft of snow of her. Roy, Roubaix is pretty hit or miss for me. I fished it through the ice once last winter and it wasn't spectacular. I fished it three times from my float tube this summer. One of the days was awesome. Very good fishing. Got 3 big 'Bows over 16". One of the days was decent and the last day right after school started again was abysmal. I know a couple guys I bumped into last winter from Huron come out to fish it specifically. Once during summer and once in the winter. I know other guys from around here that swear by it too. I guess I'm not sure how I feel about it except that it freezes over early and stays frozen for awhile.

Thanks for the info. You're right, as long as its froze early, its worth fishing. I know that by the time there should be ice, I'm ready to get on anything.  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

44! Yep I agree with the temp answer. Seems like most fish wait for the right temps. I've been at Pactola in the fall when I couldn't keep Lakers off my hook. One time I was bass fishing and I caught Lakers on plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits.  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

I follow Thomas Patrick from KNBN on Twitter. He says the models point to another major snow event Monday-ish. Says the temps will drop into the 20's after it. Maybe the Farmer's Almanac is right. Might be a long, cold winter.
