Black Friday

 Jbuss79 gave me props for this countdown idea, and it does seem like a good one, as we have exactly 90 days til ice. I just wanted to start a new thread cuz we kind of lost track on the other one. The theme is still the same, summer stinks. Plus 90 is a good round number to start off on.
 I'm not gonna lie, I and my buddy caught 2 smallmouths today, one of which was 18 inches, a 5 pound northern, and then we each got our limit of 10-11 inch perch. Home by noon. Yes, it was Stockade, and yes there were a few wormy perch. Overall though, after all was filleted and "dewormed" we ended up with about 9 pounds of meat. 23 pounds before we started. The perch at Stockade are huge right now, and if you aren't going to get them, you're missing out. Anyhoo, it was hot out there and all I could think of was the countdown to ice fishing on Iceshanty.com. I will still always prevail and bring home fish during summer, but I hate it. I got stung by a hornet yesterday. This morning getting ready to go out (in the dark at 4:30) little things kept landing on my back. I could feel em cuz it was 67 degrees and I didn't have a shirt on. So this is another start of the countdown. 90 days from now we will all be a lot happier. I'll check this thread daily and keep it going til everyone starts to pile on. :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:  ;D

Its been around 95 here for a while, but if you get up this way give a shout. I'll let you know where we're gonna be and when. I have a music project that I have to finish this winter, but I still hope to get out a bunch.  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

Congrats on somewhat of a cool down out in the hills! Looks like Friday might be the first sign of fall in the SE. I'm beyond ready to winterize the boat and start punching holes. Assuming I find a reasonable used auger before first ice  ;) .

Good news.... sept 1 I was up elk hunting with a buddy and got a 34 degree temp by trailshead.

74!  Went to Pactola yesterday and did some bassin' and caught some small pike and gills. Then loaded up and went to Stockade and I and my buddy each got perch limits in 1.5 hrs. Caught some decent perch at Pactola too, but they were scattered and hard to find.Great day! :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

66! The leaves on the oaks are turning. Time to start going to Sheridan after work on Fridays to see where the perch are gonna be at first ice. Anybody out there on Friday evenings see a red and white Champion bass boat, stop by and say hello. Or if you're fishing from shore give a wave.  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:

62! Yeah, I was on Sheridan when that happened. Out there all day in the cold and wind and rain and snow. Awesome. I was dressed just like I am in my avatar. Glad I have a well made boat. Caught some huge perch and a limit of trout. Lost a jerk bait to a monster pike. I love fishing in inclimate weather, that must be why I like to ice fish. Boner had a good time too!  :tipup: :tipup: :tipup:
