6” orange Nils

I am thinking of buying the 6” orange Nils drill for my clam plate with gear drive.  Will it attach directly to the gear drive or do I also need and adapter??

I cut the stem off mine and used an adapter for it. Was a long time ago and I believe I bought it on ebay Works like a charm.
