East grand lake Maine March fishing trip

So me and a buddy are spending the weekend on east grand. Hoping to get into cusk Lakers and salmon. Also maybe whitefish?? Anyone got any tips for me on the whitefish?im well versed in the other species but never caught a whitefish.  I know tungsten jigs and small things for them but not too much more…any tips will be helpful, never fished it before! I fished East Grand before and have caught all the species you mentioned above except whitefish. However, a guy in my crew caught a few whitefish and said he got them jigging a few inches off the bottom on a hali jig tipped with spikes or strip of smelt.
