Anything wrong with this drill adapter?
« on: Dec 09, 2015, 08:50 AM »
Thinking about buying this. g" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ice-Auger-Adapter-for-Cordless-Drill-Motor-Ice-Fishing-/171012166302?hash=item27d11e929e:m:m8W9ZBkKeeY2wLbr7clDrG g

Who knows we might not even get ice this year but I do have a good 20 volt Dewalt drill and would like to be prepared if the chance arises.

Should add your location to profile ...maybe on local .

only drawback is the length/height ...you will be bending down/over

I like/have this one

http://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/clam-auger-extension/0000000096264

just add a disc/Frisbee as a stopper .
Give a man a fish he eats for a day .Teach a man to ice fish he has an obsession for a lifetime

those bolts sticking way out are what's wrong with that one! beside no bearing support or means to save the auger when the chuck gets loose!

what i use. from a sponsor too.

3300, the long bolts are what keeps the auger from going down the hole. I never liked the idea of them snagging on clothing.

10point,check out the ice master drill adapter. I have one for my mora 6", and it's great.

I'd say just buy the Clam Drill Plate. I assembled my 20v Dewalt on there a few weeks ago and its going to be slick this season.

I should mention I also bought and assembled the 16" Auger Extension for it. I'm 6'2" so I thought that extension would save my back a bit throughout the season.

Ice Master Adapter brand for me. It has the strap that holds the auger to the drill in case the chuck loosens up. No bolts or plates sticking out. I got mine from Fishusa.com  great service. Check them out I think it would be a better option for you IMO. :)

Thanks guys, I think I will get the ice master adapter. Free shipping at bass pro right now. I'm in Indiana so we may or may not get time to fish.

you should google Pro Tackle Outfitters and look into their disc adapter. The disc is big enough so you can use up to a 7 in auger. Laser and Moras fit like a charm with absolutely no play. Plus, Jim is a sponsor. The disc doesn't spin with the auger so getting caught on clothing will never be an issue ;D

Do they make an extension for the Ice Master?

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

Sure. Just use the strikemaster or clam hand auger extension.

No-- I was referring to bungee cord attachment. 1st time out with adapter something bound and snapped the bungee quick. I was sent replacement bands.

I wasnt sure they made an extension that would fit the Ice Master. So i bought a basic HT Drill adapter, JB Weded a small pin in the top hole, and made a small disc out of 1/8in aluminum. Works the same way as the Ice Master, but adds about 12" to the height.

Please ignore the blue foam. It doesnt do anything.
