Question for the guys, what have you gotten in the past to give as Mothers Day presents ?

For the Gals, what is the most memorial present you have gotten in the past ?

Frosty 31* start to the day. Hopefully Lake Michigan kept the fruit trees from getting hurt over at the other place.

Drifter All of the materials setting at the cabin look's like a lot of work to me. Every time I see the Erickson on your straps it bringing's back memory of a company here, with the same name, that we had set two modular for us. The guy standing next to me watching hollered at the crane operator. The guy said he is  the best. I had to agree.

Bud Our govermess ran on fix the dam roads. All I see getting fixed are bridges and x-ways. The local roads are a disaster. There should be signs any where you come into the state should have signs saying. The next million miles of roads are bumpy.

IW You should look into getting  some thing like a Pickaroon that I mentioned in an earlier post. Mine is just a simple pick on an axe handle. I was able to roll a bunch of 16 inch rounds of red oak on to pallets to get them off of the ground until I can get them split. It makes me able to pick up spilt wood with out having to bend over to put it on my trailer or stack it.

Eddie Enjoy the grand kids while you can. They grow up fast and are out on their own.

My grandson called around noon telling me he might be down later to pick up my pontoon that he is buying. I had told him to give me a couple of day so I could get it uncovered and cleaned up. I guess the clean up is his now! He did not make it but maybe today after he gets the side job done he has.

More and more places here are either shutting down, cutting hours or working over time. With the extra unemployment $$$ no one wants to work. Eddie I know you would rather be working you old job.

45* and they are saying some showers on the way.
WS, too bad everyone got blown off the lake.
Drifter, looks like most of the snow is gone around town.  The "rig" looks happy at the cabin.
F/H4, some more nice walleyes, way to go.
Eddie, glad your daughter was happy with the fireplace.
Not much planned for today. Wife is going to cut my hair, she said "I have to look good" for the bowling dinner tonight. I think it is because she is going with me.
Have a good day and be well....h2l

Morning all,

TT.....congrats on getting your bird   woke to the same temps and a hard frost here yesterday  :%$#!: hoping for the best with all the blooms  :-\

WS.....you got to love the weatherman  :nono:  enjoy your day at the shack  ;)

IW.....easy does it on the wood pile :flex:

IF45.....thoughts and prayers sent your way  :)

MrC.....hope the arm is doing better  ;)

Eddie.....have fun watching the games today   hope the rain that's falling here stays away from the ball fields

IFF....change is never easy even if you're the one wanting it, best of luck which ever way the wind blows  ;)2  the best Mother's Day gifts were ALWAYS the homemade ones whether a crayon drawn picture or a framed photo of a memorable time  :)

H2L.....enjoy the diner tonight with MrsH2   we went chasing browns yesterday, should have stayed local for eyes

WS wasn't the only one to end the day with the striped kitty, the dang thing found it's way east and paid us a visit also   :pinch:  it was a nice day weather wise tho  @)  stayed dry until some sprinkles around 3 had us packing up, hadn't been on the road 5 minutes when it started pouring  ::)

Mowed here Thursday afternoon, the GRASS was plenty dry, the ground however has turned into a soggy sponge with areas of quicksand  >:(   not sure how I didn't get stuck  :o  and it's raining AGAIN

Good day, light rain falling temperature in the low fifties currently. A Happy Mother's day wishes sent to all of the 9:45 spouses to whom it may apply. They are still working on the stairs cases I see holes dug for the footings to support landing at top of a few stairs cases so hopefully we do not receive to much rain. So far they have not touched the stairs on my building.
Whopper Stopper i assume you received a good report at the dentist. Sounds like you and Jen got your exercise battling the wind and waves may conditions be better on your next trip. May the chimney cleaning not be to dirty of a job today. Nice looking willow tree.
Ice Wanderer did the doctor give you any answer to the numbness in your left thumb and index finger. Good to read your firewood order was delivered take your time processing and stacking the wood as WS said be careful while working.
Wallyworld may you have a nice Mother's Day. Sorry to hear the striped kitty visited on your fishing trip. Glad you beat the rain getting off the lake and your boat loaded onto the trailer. . Good job getting your lawn mowed and not getting the mower/tractor stuck in any soggy sections.
Fish/Hunt4ever congratulations on a good day of fishing. Nice work getting your buddy out I'm sure the trip lifted his spirit. Thank you for answering Badder's question. Now I have one for you what is the "ultra pure" sulfuric acid used for that impurities in parts per trillion are a concern.
Hunt2long you and the wife enjoy the bowling dinner tonight. Overall I'm pleased with Spectrum's service when I need a tech. visit they have arrived on or close to scheduled appointment time. One thing that does bother me is that since you are renting their equipment (cable box, modem, router ) they will make system repairs and not notify you. One of the problems I had was caused by a filter they had place on the line servicing my unit and a neighbors are they found to much feed back from our equipment  going into their system a phone call about the problem would have been nice.
Drifter-016 glad the SxS fit onto your friends trailer and you got it safely to your cabin. I assume you have some type of shelter for it at the cabin. I hope the Covid problem is improving and no new cases have been reported.
IFF deciding to move is not any easy choice and like you said going through your belongings and choosing what to keep and and dispose of is difficult. Best to you whichever choice you make.
Eddie glad your daughter is happy with the fireplace. May your grandchildren have played well if the rain did not cancel their games.
Tomturkey may you find your fruit trees in good shape. Nice that your grandson is getting the pontoon boat may he take you out fishing once he cleans up the boat.
Sebago2jigtima may you get many years of enjoyment out of the new to you boat.

Everyone have a nice weekend stay safe and healthy.

No shelter yet. It will be going home with me tomorrow. Next week I'll be driving it from the boat launch. It will probably be the last trip until the ice melts.

Bud
It's not far. About 12-15 miles on the road and 8 miles up the lake from the launch.

Good Evening all,  One of the post that never made it would have been my stay at a US Army Core of Engineers park, on the Mississippi river near my brothers place.  I was impressed and the cost to me was great too.

Oh and got to go with one of the guys in his boat, and Friday, and we got the stripped kitty, he went on yet anothers boat Today and they caught a dozen or so all short of keepers.  With all the miles on both RV and car, remember they are due for oil changes, got the RV one done today.  Heard some thunder, but hardly a drop at my digs, bit of wind though.

See I will need to play plumber again, vanity sink is draining real...real....slow.

just heard the out of control rocked landed in the Indian Ocean

Oh just see Dave's post, I was wondering about the shelter for the SxS too.

No doubt since I just got up from a nap will be up late again.  Best to all.

Happy Mothers Day to WW and all the other Moms.
40* and a heavy fog when I got up.
WW, one of the guys that bowls with us was out to Ontario this pass week. They did well one day and one he said it too windy to get out.
TT, congrats on the turkey.
IFF, sometimes it can be the side of the boat you are fishing from not the boat.

Had a good time at the dinner last night. Dinner was good and the wife won the 50/50, go figure. She gave her winnings to me and kept my prize money, GO FIGURE that out.
Lindsay and Rocky are coming up today.

Everyone enjoy the day....h2l

The ultra pure acid is mixed with ultra pure hydrogen peroxide and then the wafers that are being etched for computer chips are dipped in this and several other solutions the remove the etching dust. The impurities can land in one of the channels and then makes that board useless because it shorts that channel out. The wafer can contain several motherboards on it and have heard that each rack of wafers can cost up to a million a piece or so after the process is done and each wafer can contain several motherboards. Have not been to any fab but my boss has and watches a guy knock over a rack of wafers and he just started taking off his cleanroom uniform because he knew he was done and walked out. The fabs are trying to get the channels down to a smaller channel so the particles and contaminants are getting even more strigent so we are trying to figure out how to go the next level down from parts per trillion (ppt) to parts per quadrillion (ppq). This is what makes the job fun but stressful at the same time.

Happy mothers day to all those mothers out there. Have a great day.

Have a good end to the weekend everyone and a good start to the week. Looks like a nice day here then crappy weather for the start of the week but they are saying more moisture which will be nice.

Happy Mother's Day, Ladies

Good Morning, All

48*, cloudy with the chance of rain all day, slight breeze, may get to high 50's - We had tornado warnings posted for last night here, had the makings of one push thru about
11:30 till about 12:45 a.m.-lots of thunder, hail, wind, sounded like a 60 mph freight train moving thru with a jet plane exhaust from 100 ft. away pointed right at you -
Ellie & I were waiting for the tornado siren to go off, but it never did, guess the 'bullet' went wide, or was loaded wrong

Clean - Hope the new stairs make it easier to get to the laundries at the complex

Mason - How did the floor go at your buddy's?

I.W. - How much wood was delivered? - What did the Dr. say about your hand?

Mrs. W.W. - The weather 'loves' to mess with fishing plans

F/H4ever - Have watched the process on different shows, just did not know how pure the cleaning solutions were, or what they were made of, interesting

I.F.F. - Have fun with the plumbing 'hat'

Drifter - Good looking rig, that SxS, Have you been working on the airboat at all?

H2L - Be glad you got any money out of the deal  ;D

W.S. - What do you use to move the dump trailer?

Slowly getting ready for another trip to NJ for another load of tools, had plenty to do here after the last trip - Got all the paperwork done for the taxes, just some notes
for the accountant, will drop that off to her in NJ this trip - when we moved, a lot of the papers were just placed into a box in no special order, so that had to be done
before the spread sheets could be done, taxes will be split between NJ & KS, should be interesting to see how this works out

Again, To All The Ladies, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Be Safe
Stay Warm or Cool
Have Fun
Tight Lines
Records & Limits
Safe Travels
Good Eats & Drink
Happy Birthday
Happy Anniversary
Get Well Soon
Thoughts & Prayers
Now is the time for all good men and women to engage in the sport of ice fishing

Good afternoon sunny day earlier with temperature in the low sixties now sky is cloudy and wind is picking up so may see some rain this evening. I headed to my sister and BIL's yesterday afternoon stayed overnight and came home this morning. Good visit and meals. In local lacrosse news West Point/Army Black Knights lost their Patriot league semi-final game to the Greyhounds of Loyola Maryland on Friday ending the teams season.  On the high school level Newburgh won it's first game of the season defeating Middletown 18 goals to 3 on Saturday both teams are struggling this year.
Drifter-016 may the trip home with the SxS be problem free. I assume a shelter for the vehicle at the cabin is on your to do list.
Iff nice you were able to get in some fishing on your trip. glad there was a nice  campground near your brother.
Ice Wanderer may your wife and all the other mothers in your family be having a good day.
Eddie Mother's day greeting sent to the Mom's in your family also hope you or other family member got to spend some time with your mother.
Congratulations to your wife on winning the 50?50 at the bowling league dinner. Something tells me your prize winning may have totaled more then the 50/50 .  May you be having a good day with your daughters.
Wallyworld hope you received a phone call or some other type of message from your son and the grandchildren. Is Mr.WW treating you to anything special today.
Fish/hunt4ever thank you for the explanation on what the ultra pure sulfuric acid is used for and why impurities are such a big concern . It does sound like a challenging job best to you are your coworkers on getting impurities down to parts per quadrillion. May your mother and wife be having nice days.
Capt.Jim happy to read the Tornado did not develop or missed your area of KS. Have a good trip to and from NJ. do you plan to resume working at some time in the future since you are bring your tools across the country.
Old Sailor Happy Mother's day to your wife. May growing the sweet corn in a tub produce well for you this year.

Everyone have a pleasant and good evening.

Well took the wife out to the bigger lake today and caught one little walleye and had a few other hits just could not get them hooked. Then came home and grilled some chicken while she made deviled eggs and the MIL brought some noodle salad. Then I made a chocolate lasagna that I modified with some peanut butter in the cream cheese layer and guess it turned out since everyone ate it all up. Was a good end of mothers day weekend.

                Good morning ER's,
It's 41* and cloudy, with a chance of showers today. ::)
Wally/Capt.Jim.......The specialist said that I have a inflamed nerve in my neck, he gave me some med and some exercises to do.
If that doesn't work I have to go to PT somewhere. But I'm going to do my best to keep from doing that. :flex:
Fish.........Thanks for sharing the picture.
H2l..........Enjoy the day with Lindsay and Rocky.  How is the lake level doing, The dam on the Schroon river here in Warrensburg
is flowing over the top.
Steve.......Thanks for the Lacrosse stats. Did you play lacrosse in school? ???
Capt. Jim....I got between 7 and 8 cords, I nope to start on it today.
Yesterday my wife and I went to Vt. for the day and surprised her mother, we stayed till 4pm then a 2,5 hr drive home. So since it was dinner time
I suggested we stop at KFC, Dave got me thinking about some.

Good morning everyone

40 heading to the mid 60's by the afternoon.

Hope everyone and a good weekend

We seemed to stay on the move both Saturday and yesterday.

Yesterday we took a ride to meet up with a guy who had rifle primers to sell. For anyone loading their own ammo, components are scarce to say the least, primers have been nonexistent. A guy on a different forum had mentioned he was looking to sell some so I inquired and ended up getting 3000 from him.

We ended the day with a fish fry. This was the first batch

WW....you had asked about fishing on Saturday. The s-i-l caught another mess of crappies while my wife helped with cleaning the chimney at the shack. Speaking of the chimney, that was in serious need of cleaning. I think we were fortunate that we never had any problems.

Capt.J.... I have a GMC Sierra 2500hd for pulling the trailer around.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good Morning Jeff, Marv, Morning Everyone,
Hope you all had a pleasant weekend!   41* and cloudy this am, might see a stray shower, high of 54.

Jeff...bet that was a nice surprise for your MIL, nice job!     Been thinking about that KFC myself, lol, maybe today.  ;D
Marv...congrats to your SIL on another fine catch, those fillets look awesome!!   Sounds like you’re good to go with the primers for awhile, nice job! Glad you got the chimney all cleared, those chimney fires are bad news for sure, way to go!
FH4...chocolate lasagna, will have to look into that one! Thank you for sharing the info on your work, best of luck reaching your (PPQ)  goals, sounds pretty intense!!
Steve...glad you had a nice visit with the family, thanks for the lacrosse updates...that’s too bad West Point fell short in the semifinals, better luck to them next season.
OS...will have to look for that variety of corn, mine didn’t do so well in large tubs last season. Waiting for warmer weather to get here as well...anxious to start planting soon!
Capt.J...glad to read the tornado threat didn’t develop and hopefully no major damage from the high winds.  Some of my wife’s family have been living in the Wichita area for years and we’ve heard a lot of stories of the weather and the sirens going off. Fingers crossed it’s a mild season out your way this year.   The floor went well other than the 2nd truck running about 20 minutes late.
Wally...looking like a decent week ahead weather wise, hope you get a chance to get a few trips in with the boat and the bike!  Best of luck!
H2...congrats to your wife hitting the 50/50 at the dinner, sounds like she made a good trade for the prize $$, lol.  :roflmao:

I went to the nursing home to drop off a card and flowers about 8am yesterday because I didn’t get scheduled for an appointment. When I arrived, a woman met me at the door and let me in to hand deliver them to my Mom! I was able to spend an hour with her and feed her breakfast which was so special...truly a blessing, so unexpected.
Not sure what’s on the agenda today yet...maybe I’ll tackle the garage mess before I get reprimanded again, lol.   Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

44* and looks like we may have gotten some light rain overnight.

Grilled some ribs and got pizzas from TWO different shops. One was a Greek pizza so that had white sauce. They don't care for the red sauce from that place so had to get the other from the other shop. The shops are only 1/4 mile apart so timing is everything. Too me pizza is pizza and I don't care for ribs. Played yahtzee.

IW, lake is doing fine. Still about 2 feet down from normal so will be OK. Not sure what the long term effects will be on the walleyes, if any. The water was so low in the creeks this spring that I never saw ONE walleye spawning. Sure they spawned along shorelines downstream and along main lake shorelines. That is why I wish the State would stock some of their fry in the lake to off-set years when the conditions are not right.

Have a good day and stay well...h2l

Morning all,

CapJ.....can't imagine living in either tornado or hurricane prone areas  :o  I'll take a blizzard any day

WS....good you got the gook out of the chimney before something bad happened

Eddie....what a great surprise for your Mom AND you    lots of wind this week will most likely keep us on dry land  :-\

IW.....nice your M-I-L lives close enough for a day trip  hope you can avoid the pt  :flex:

H2L.....sounds like quite the spread for dinner

MrC......glad to hear you had a nice visit with your sister and B-I-L

Snuck in a short bike ride yesterday, the impending rain kept us on edge and had us home with only 50 miles added to the odometer  ::)  more rain for today  :pinch:

Grr I hit post and went to modify and the post was not there. will try again now.

Modify It worked this time.

Freeze warning today and tomorrow. Then a little warmer, hopefully.

Eddie It is good to here that you got to see your MOM yesterday.

Steve I only have a few apple trees on my property for the deer. Around my property has a lot of fruit and asparagus. These frosts can be a disaster to the farmers.

F/4E I worked at a Hooker Chemical plant in Michigan for a while. I think it was Love Canal they were involved in in NY state. We made HCL. What  a hole to work in. It was a Super Fund place so the whole plant was buried in a big sealed vault. It took my eyes months to turn from yellow back to white from the exposure to the chlorine in the air after I quit the place.

WS Was that American elm you mentioned. I bunt a lot of the regeneration of it after it too died from Dutch Elm Disease. It was the best wood I ever burnt. It just glowed in the stove. The only draw back was the clinkers like you get from burning coal.

H@L We have Spectrum. I have found a lot of programs I enjoy. Life Below Zero, Port Protection, Mountain Men, Swamp People to name a few. I will not pay extra to get the Outdoor Channel as so many of the hunting shows are canned hunts.

My grandson and his buddy came down and pick up the toon Sat. I called him last night. as we were talking he was on the road with a picnic table his wife had bought. As we were talking the transmission went out of his truck. Luckily they used his buddy truck to take the toon to his place on Saturday.

Eddie, and others interested in growing sweet corn in a tub, here's the link. You need a large tub! Mine is 26" across!!

HCL can be a bad one to work around, luckily I only have to use it in a few of my tests for different things.  We also make SBS as a way to reduce our emissions of SO2 from the plant.

Here is the recipe that I started using for the Chocolate lasagna, but I made a few adjustments to add 3/4 cup peanut butter and went to a cup of powdered sugar to make my version of peanut butter chocolate lasagna that is what the wife liked so much last night for dessert.

Have a good day the weather here today is rainy and colder but warmer and dryer conditions coming soon, just wish the moisture would get everything green around here.  have a good start of the work week.

Good Morning or late morning which ever.

If I remember correctly come Mothers day was the time to put plants out ??, guess not this year, more frozen mix Tuesday  :cookoo:  I think I must have miss placed my Ambition somewhere in my travels.  Spotted a leak in the RV, with this latest rain here at home.  Need to see if I can tell where its coming in from.    See some asparagus is up, and about to find its way into salad makings.

Looking like its going to be on the gloomy side next couple days, good time to be inside and sorting.

but now coffee first.  ;D

Good Evening, Gang

Cool & nippy today, just made it to 60*, more clouds than sun, & breezy

Mrs. W.W. - To be honest, I don't miss the NJ Shore-we had our share of snow & blizzards when the season provided for it, summers were were hot as "Hades", only difference
is hurricanes or tornados, when I was still fishing salt water with my capt.'s license, a 'water spout' is something to see, a tornado on the water, very impressive
feat of nature, had some very scared people on the boat that day watching it

Clean - Yes, I do plan on working here part time once all the tools are here, more painting then anything, some woodwork repairs while painting-always a piece of trim or
baseboard that needs attention, maybe a interior door replacement, just not hot & heavy as I use to, 68 y.o. is very slowly gaining ground with me, damn, where
are the grandkids when I need them

I.F.F. - Catch that leak quick so the inside doesn't get destroyed in the R.V. - Good Luck

O.S. - Is the 26" tub for one plant?

Mason - That was the perfect Mother's Day, being able to spend some time with her by surprise, both for her & you, glad for both of you

T.T. At least the 'toon made it without a hitch

W.S. - That is a good looking plate of fish, enjoyed it I am sure you did, tartar or cocktail?

Dr. Spec. - What's the latest with you?

H2L - Oh, what we do to make everyone happy with pizza

Well, everything is finally ready for me to take another trip back to NJ, will be leaving in the a.m., am hoping to get the rest of the tools here, then the last trip will be in
June to bring the boat 'west of the Mississippi', I still havn't decided on who I want to give my 'keys to NJ' to yet, will make that choice when I get the boat  ;D

Talk to you all this weekend coming
