i haven't brought my daughter out on the ice yet, this year for sure though, she'll be 3 1/2 by then, i was going to bring her out last year but she was still potty training i thought it might be a little much changing diapers on the ice, hey vermonner congrats on the new addition to your family, my wife should be ready to pop any time now
I'm with mealworm on this. My two boys were each on the ice as soon as they were potty trained. This also applies to me. The day I can no longer control my own bladder is the day I hang up the traps. I'm 32, so I have a ways to go.
Take them as soon as you feel it's time. You need to pick your days and plan on staying short amounts as they get antsy quick. Start them out jigging with a flasher and they will stay interested longer but still not real long. Just watch out for those guys and their 10" holes (Image removed from quote.)
Hi everyoneHad the blessing of becoming a new father in May--a boy-- and was wondering when everyone brought the kid (s) on the ice for the 1st time. I remember going at about 4 or so w/my dad. Your thoughts?
I've got pics of her actually hugging the fish before we let it go
Oh man! That last picture made me laugh! My daughter lives up in Cedar Falls. Maybe we can get together sometimes this winter.
thats funny i brought my daughter out on the open water for the first time this past spring we caught a few pickeril, she wanted to give every fish a ''kiss n hug'' as she says, and when she lost one at the boat she got so mad she threw her sunglasses and her dora the explorer pole in the lake, luckily it was only 3FOW and every thing was recoverd
