LOL!.....It's killing me too, but atleast there are still some great oppertunities to be had for Walleye and Muskie. The earliest i can recall getting on safe ice was December 12th. I'm just not looking forward to drilling through 4 feet of the stuff in March...GRRRR!!! Almost had to buy an extension last winter

Hey Carpcatcher, I have actually used my vex in open water. I bought it on the off season and was dieing to give it a try. So I loaded up a paddle boat and placed it in the seat next to me. It worked well, I positioned my self over a Nice hole I found over the years and watched the pannies come up and slam my bait.

I've used my vex in open water also Icejunky. I was refering to slip and his fishing from the shore.

The first shot of cold weather looks like it will be here in the east the middle of next week.  High's in upper 30's and low 40's and dipping down into the low 20's at night.  It's not the artic outbreak, but at least it is a start.
