Best jig for crappie using a minnow...

I wanted to see what other people are using for their "go to jig' when using a crappie minnow for crappies. post picture and names if possible.

Here is mine:

caught some on the glo perch jig as well as the silver shiner spoon tonight. Plain gold hook is my standby though

I use the blue glow teardrop style. If I am missing a bunch, I pinch off the head of the minnow so it is easier for them to catch it. Stick the hook up into the minnow so the hook comes out just above its back. One other thing, pop the air sack before you hook it up.

I use a tinmouth torpedo, I mold and paint this jig myself.  They sell locally at a couple of bait shops, but are very easy to make.  You can use a 1/32 or 1/16 oz tube jig head.  They can be whatever color you want, (green head/chart body or red head/white body are my best colors) just use the powder coat paint for leadheads found at Gander Mtn, etc.  I put holographic 3d eyes on them, tie in a couple strands of mixed flashabou (also at Gander) in the tail with thread to match the body color.  Then I put on a 2-step clear coat, and put them on a jig turner.  In 24 hours you're set.  Have caught many OH crappies over 12-17 inches on these.  They'll get bull 'gills, catfish, bass, perch, and pickeral as well.  TIP: make sure jig hangs horizontal or you get less bites.  Work well tipped with minnow or waxworm.  If you want more detailed info, just email me at [email protected]  I'm going to try to post a pic, but I suck @ this and don't know if it'll work.

What is a Herty Girty? I have never seen one that I know of.

Forage minnow spoon when the fish are "on".  Shrimpo when the bite is lighter.  Something about that shrimpo that crappies can't resist.  Also had good luck with the Ratso when the fish are biting.

Used glass minnow before.  I have a couple in a shad pattern.  They work great for large slabs, tip them with a waxie.
