First Burbot Trip

Went out yesterday specifically for burbot. Fished 20 to 40 feet with sucker minnows and caught one about every 15 minutes from 4pm-10pm. Grand total was around 2 dozen. The biggest was around 3lbs. Is there a trick to getting some a little bigger, or is it just luck?
