Jetsled cover?
« on: Jan 12, 2013, 10:01 PM »
I know in an ideal world I'd keep my gear in my garage but my jetsled, tipups, auger, etc are stuck outdoors most of the season.  Typically, I just cover it with a blue tarp when not in use, but I wonder if anyone has a better suggestion -- I'm thinking about a grill cover from Home Depot?

The ingenuity of ice fisherman never ceases to amaze me so I thought I'd ask.

I used to use the covers made by Jet Sled corp. for the sled (got 'em from FISH 307), until I began to cram in so much gear that the regular cover won't fit. So, I went to Fitzner's in Rotterdam and they made me a custom cover, out of heavy material and a heavy duty zipper (makes access to gear MUCH easier than the regular covers). The regular covers attach by an elastic hem sewed around the edge. So you have to take it totally off and set it under something on a windy day or it will blow across the lake (happened to me once). My custom cover with the zipper.. in open, takeout gear, zip closed. Works great. Highly recommended. Put it on your wish list from Santa for next year....
